AUS$ price of gold is as important for aussie gold companies than is the US$ - now if you take a chart of the US$ - AUS$ exchange rate and the US$ gold price you see a fairly tight correlation between the too - which means that the spculative bubble in gold stocks is based upon focusing on US$ gold prices and not AUS$ gold price which hasnt moved anywhere near as much as the US$ gold price
