    Hi All.

Does this area of West Africa need the infrastructure that Sundance Resources is planning to build?

Gabon.large iron ore projects all just about as far from a port as you can be in Gabon.Narrow gauge rail system within a 100kl distance, but totally inadequate for amounts of iron ore to be railed over 500kl to the nearest port.

The Congo Republic.Largest/high grade projects all as far from port as you can be in The Congo Republic. No rail system for many hundreds of kls.

Cameroon.Largest high grade and biggest resource of Itabirite around 500kl from port.No rail system for 100's of kls.

This area of Africa has one of the largest unspoilt/protected and to be listed as protected,Rain Forest,River Systems,Animal and Plant species numbers in the World.
Because of the above and protected items that are important to the world, only one rail system is likely to be built.
China who looks to be the front runner for most of the large projects in West Africa will not want to build a separate rail and port system for each of the three countries.

The three countries spoken of are all in dire need of huge amounts of export dollars to bring the countries out of a life time of poverty.

The three countries have huge amounts of products that are needed by other countries around the world, especially minerals that the world market needs.
This part of Africa is pretty central to Europe,America,Arab States and not as far as Brazil is to Asia.

The Cameroon Government realize how important it is to have the main rail and port systems for export from this region of West Africa. They would realize the revenue they will get as the main focus of imports and exports for this region of West Africa.
Other countries in the region would more then likely use the rail and ports in Cameroon in years to come, such as the Central African Republic and The North/West of The Democratic Republic of Congo.

Too much planing and money have been spent already in Cameroon for the Rail and Ports not to start up.
People have been re-housed and are being re-housed for the Port projects.
Contracts have been signed and projects have started to be built,Dams to supply electric power generation, gas for power for the Ports and its infrastructure needs and new roads connecting the likes of Nigeria to Cameroon to Gabon and The Congo Republic going through the area of Mbalam.
These things were envisioned when Sundance first started exploring the Mbalam tenement.

This area of iron ore has "not" been formed by plates coming together and rising up,it is from volcanic disturbance which has been known to be of much higher grades of iron ore then other formations.
The whole area is of volcanic disturbance and is why the projects in this area of Africa are all known to have +60%Fe,plus Itabirite.

We know ArcelorMittal (the largest steel producer in the world) have been to Mbarga with other large companies taking a keen interest as well.
We know the largest Russian steel maker has taken a share of Core Mining just to the South/West of Mbarga and just West of Nabeba.
Severstal have also taken a share of the African Aura Group of companies.African Aura have tenements that SDL's rail corridor will run through.
We know Rio Tinto and ArcelorMittal have large interests in other West African iron ore projects in other countries.
We know Rio Tinto,BHP and Vale have tenements in Gabon.
Vale and the Chinese in fresh negotiations with the Gabon Government to take control of Belinga
Rio Tinto with two iron ore tenements not too far from Mbalam and Nabeba.Rio Tinto's Northern most tenement is within 100kls of SDL's Rail corridor.

China's Sino are exploring Les Mamelles tenement that SDL's rail corridor will be very close to if not pass through it.

In 2006 it was spoken about by Research Groups that Belinga,Avima and Badondo could end up sending their iron ore through SDL's Mbalam Tenement to get it to port for export.

Why do we think SDL have been talking of building DR,Sinter feed,Pig Iron Concentrate plants and recently talk of Steel Mills?
Control of Rail,Port and Plants means HUGE dollars in extra revenue for SDL and any partners they have.
Do we think the big players in world iron ore markets do not realize that?
If SDL are finding it hard to get interest for the $3.2 billion projects, why would they be talking about all the added on infrastructures? Who would be putting putting these thoughts of extra infrastructure in their head?
Cameroon Government want all these added infrastructures built.
Cameroon Government have had talks with companies and Country Government Figures from the likes of China,India,Japan,Korea and Arab States.

Do we think Sundance Resources are struggling to get finance?

    Regards
    Westcott.
