We do have an opportunity to get this blocked in the senate. Of course, Dictator Conroy is not going to yield and the Greens are making noises that they will go along with his bullying (of course they have Chavez tendencies also).

The Liberals will oppose the legislation however the Nationals and Senators Xenophon and Fielding are the unknowns at this stage. Do not underestimate the pressure that 1.4 million shareholders/voters can exert. We need to start a grass roots campaign and it needs to start now. There is more at stake here than our shareholding in Telstra. If this government is allowed to prevail in decimating Telstra, they will be emboldened to attack the banks next, then Coles and Woolies, who knows where it will end. Australia will certainly be off the agenda for foreign investment.
