I have reading the Denver Gold Presentation of the sog.com.au website. As a result, I now feel a good deal more positive about SGW than I did before though, I appreciate that Captain Salty's has a valid point about a competitive threat to SGW Tantalum business from 2005 onwards...though, as the World's biggest producer I would have thought that it will be easier for them to shut new entrants to the Tantalum market than for any new entrant to make significant inroads into SGW's market share.
Moreover, it seems to me that gold is SGW's real profit driver and clearly they are working hard to drive costs down, reduce their hedge book as the gold price moves higher.
Captain Salty might be right but right now the big institutional buyers don't seem to share his views as they continue to push SGW's share price higher...nice to see it up as high as $3.30 today...wish I had bought more than a small parcel now!
