Sengkang Geothermal Plant Operator to Sue Siemens

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Operator of the Sengkang geothermal plant in South Sulawesi, Energy World Corporation Limited said it will sue Siemens if it fail to repair damage at its facility by the end of this month.
General Counsel of Energy World Corporation Limited Thompson Situmorang informed lawmakers with the Energy Commission about the plan at a parliamentary hearing on Monday (25/1).
A damage on the GT21 turbine at the facility since October 4th last year has disrupt electricity supply for the province. The company said the turbine lost lubricants due to leakage on the outer side of its pads and supposed to be repaired before christmas last year.
Thompson said will continue to negotiate the matter but If �by January 31 Siemens could not complete (the reparation), we will file a lawsuit.�
Energy world owns the power plant, which provide 60 megawatt of electricity per day for Makassar, through its subsidiary PT Energi Gas Sengkang Darma Sakti.
