Bars much lower premium than coins but I have better access to purchase coins via eBay than physical from the nearest mint/broker etc. I offer as close to the spot price as I think the buyer will accept and occasionally, if they bought cheap enough or really need the funds, they will accept. Keep in mind that even though you pay more for the coins, they can also appreciate higher than bars due to mintage amounts. Bars are locked to spot price (slight variation due to popularity of certain producers) more so than coins, I think. At some point I would like to be able to afford some bars as well. When the "everything bubble" bursts it will be coins for the spending and bars for the saving...ideally.
