A further risk to Chinese shares and a flight to safety assets like gold and USD could be collapse of Evergrande and default on its $300bn in debt.
Who knows how the market reacts in reality, but that is certainly on the probability distribution as a short-term catalyst to spark a tail-risk type reaction.
