Perhaps your correct, however whilst people numbers are high in China, how many of the total population can afford to pay at the rate of Australian & American drug prices when most of their populations income is maybe 5% or less of those of us in Australia. Sure the wealthy will be able to easily pay what we or our PBS will pay to deliver a handsome profit for Pharmas selling in Australia, please give us some real stats on how much these 500-800 companies are really expecting to make in a low per capita income nation? If that were true then these companies would be making a fortune in the Phillipines, Africa, India etc What are the real numbers in millions of Asians who could afford to buy expensive pharma products and then not need to worry that some much clever Asian country would copy the patent and sell at much lower prices?
