I don't believe that Telstra have lost but just in case this process becomes a circus (this is what politics do well) and for some unbelieaveble scenario it is awarded to somebody else (with no Gov't money) then it is good too discuss the options.
I agree the way Telstra have approached the process. Definetely need the structural seperation issue clarified.
If I was a BT or NZ Telecom shareholder I would be at the next AGM with my boxing gloves on. It is sacrosinct for a board to make a decision that devalues shareholder value 50-70% overnight.
TLS also have some fibre presence (some way down the line), HFC (cable) and a great Wireless Network. These are all access points for a real and viable alternative if they loose.
Keep up the great debate. I might wright to Conroy with my views and yur inputs have given me a few new directions.
