Just saw an interesting interview on CNBC with Mike Jackson, Chairman & CEO of Autonation, the largest automotive dealer in the US.
Looks like their strategy is to rebranded all of their dealerships as "Autonation" across the country, and then complement the physical presence with an "Autonation" online presence. He said that the idea is to create the "one" experience for customers, who walk into dealerships with their mobile devices. He said they are getting far more milage with their Autonation website than any third party offering (I suppose the US equilivents of Carsales.com).
Wonder if Eagers or Automotive Holdings are looking to go down a similar path? Seems like a powerful idea.
