The Isaiah and Revelation passages you mentioned concern the end of the old order of religion being completely rolled up and finished with when the second coming occurs. It's a metaphor for the prevailing religions being rolled up or finished with, their hierarchy who were like stars, falling from splendour and their false beliefs shrivelling like figs.

The mountains and islands moved out of their places is telling us that this new religion will reach every point on the planet and nobody will fail to be shaken by it. Spiritually shaken.
