    Yes, Psalm 102 is powerful stuff. I do not see a metaphor there, rather it is stating the difference between the eternal nature of God and the transient nature of composed objects, which includes the universe. 'Torn' may even be a reference to the effects of a black hole.

    Interesting that the writings of Krishna includes a description of cycles beyond our imagination of universal birth and eventual destruction leading to the rebirth of the universe all over again.

    Here's something I found interesting. This comes from a religious work from the 1860s. 'Split the atom’s heart, and lo!
    Within it thou wilt find a sun.' It came with a warning that there was a force in the earth as yet undiscovered that had the potential of destroying mankind. The writer goes on to state that, it is their hope that mankind is spiritually mature when this force is discovered.
