I disagree.
Slavery is is a condition that arose because of the "natural justice" you are so eager to rely on.
The same can be said of the gender issues.
The fact that a religious book accepted this condition as being prevalent does not mean it advocated it.
The OT and the NT both indicate mercy and compassion in in dealing with slaves, and also with women, which is apparently an improvement from conditions and practices prevailing prior to these teachings.
As far as "natural justice", I am not so sure why you believe this wonderful concept fosters empathy and reason.
The history of mankind has shown pretty clearly that its natural tendency is towards values and practices that are pretty far short of what we would all agree is ideal.
It does nothing beneficial to call people "sick" that agree with wisdom, compassion, generosity, mercy, and the other excellent personal qualities encouraged by various religious teachings.
