As far as Soviet Russia, I cannot understand what points you are trying make.
Soviet Russia was avowedly atheistic in its philosophy and policies.
The results were social and economic and political failure.

It is pure nonsense. It was an extension of "Christian Morality" against Jews that has been going on for hundreds of years.
Again, the Russians were never atheists. You can say anything at state level. And you are concluding that Russia's economic failures were due to atheist policies? So tell us Sally, what religion do you know of which does not expouse the theoretical values of communism? I would put it to you that you have it the wrong way around. It is because their tries a religious economic system that caused its collapse.

I have become friendly with a number of Russians who lived in Russia during the Cold War.

We confirmed that what the Russians were fed about the West, and the West about Russia was pure fantasy.

The Russian version of communism although officially atheist never converted Russia into a nation of atheists. That is the reason that Russia has apparently moved easily from an atheist country to a theist country - it was actually a theist country through the communist period.

PS1 In my opinion nobody has really tried communism, which I think that you point out is not really at odds with Christian doctrine from a moral standpoint.

PS2 The Christian standpoint that the Jews murdered Jesus makes it easier for them to persecute Jews. For me the irony is that the murder of Jesus is essential for Christian salvation
