Out tax problem is that the wrong people are paying the lions share of government tax receipts.
At present individuals are paying just over 85% of tax (Personal Tax, GST,+ CGT + Super Tax.)
This is absurd for a country with a small population and with amazing natural resources fetching
premium prices on global markets .
We have been sold a pup by our politicians who are supposed to govern for
the General Good. There is no Pollie with the guts to stand up and say that
its far from an Aussie "Fair Go" that Aussies have to pay 85% of our taxes while owning
less than 10% of our resources.
In today's record high prices for IO, Coal & LNG, its absurd to allow the foreign
owners of these precious resources an Aussie Tax Free Holiday...what are we?
IMO if our resources were taxed at a fair market value , then Aussie workers
on $100K P/A or less could be income tax free.
