Thanks guys. I realise now that I hadn't listened closely enough to the Digital Loudspeakers Videos on the Audio Pixels website and thought that the sound directionality of the chips was inherent . Upon re-listening to the relevant portions of the video, however, I now see that directionality is just an added optional feature and the chips can produce omnidirectional sound too.
