The huge brown coal deposits, power stations and associated infrastructure are already available in the likes of Latrobe Valley in Victoria. Big industry with intensive power usage are more likely to go there than Central Australia.
I agree with Rob, that JH has already flagged other uses for CTP coals that are much more viable.
