The way I understand it----- in a democracy the citizens tell Politicians what they want by voting candidates who respond to their wants an dneeds.

Of course lobby groups change things and then we have Facebook, pseudo science, extreme groups and wackos from QLD tossing their hat in the ring.

Its an imperfect world but there isn't around that beats a stable democracy.
