Your statement "No EV battery manufacturers left in Europe" is wrong. There are quite a few in operation, although yes new investments have been hampered by the difficult competition from China.

Some Chinese manufacturers have in fact themselves built factories in Europe.
CATL have operating battery plants in Germany and Hungary.

LG Energy's have a 86HWh plant in Wroclaw, Poland, just 210km from the EMN mine (https://lgensol.pl/en/get-know-us/). They make LFP, but LG Energy are GM's partners on the lithium-manganese-rich (LMR) chemistry so hopefully they could one day bring that new tech to Poland. Or, leverage into the LMFP chem.

The EV battery space in Europe is certainly not without risk. If it was easy, EMN would have offtake agreements by now and be well into construction towards the $1b market cap. Until then, we're at a $10m market cap awaiting offtake and finance. High risk high reward.
