I am not a lawyer but if people & organizations are now making apologies and there is a suggestion of them deliberately spreading misinformation then the damages could be huge (USD 60million just for 6 months operational holding costs) and the charges bordering on criminal.
In my opinion Lynas could be under pressure from the government to walk away from litigation so as to avoid leaving a bad taste in local mouths from a large damages claim.
