hi biscuit,
the euro is just one political time bomb for the brits.
i always expected britian to join the euro when the uk economy fell apart and the remainder of the eu didn't. looking at some sort of stability so to speak. could still happen ?
however, this article was the sort of noise being made at the end of 2005 into 2006. i do not feel the euro will falter towards collapse. imho of course. if it does and the us and the rest of the world do not get to grips with consumer debt then i think we'll all be back scrubbing about on the land for food. The monetry system as we know it today will be dead. it is very unlikely that any country will want this to happen. so i think the route will be to reign in the debt at the expense of jobs and we'll get the expected by many ..... depression.
