Like Pug said, everything gets "manipulated" from time to time.
If gold is really being manipulated and has been for that many years then a logical person would have to conclude that it is a poor investment because you could never really use any kind of analysis to determine when a price increase might occur. Unless you are the manipulator. If you are not then why on earth would you play a game of which you dont know the rules and never will.
