Is the French terrorist attack 'political'

I note that it is under discussion in other forums but not this one.
I would say that it is entirely justifiable to include this in the 'politics' forum.

It is yet another attack by Islamic terrorists who are attempting to make a 'political' statement in countries which have allowed their presence by 'political' decisions.

Prime Minister Abbott was taken to task for increasing Australia's alert level to 'distract from the budget'.
Tragic events in Sydney proved that these accusations were wrong.

Danish cartoons showing Mohammed were not re-printed in Australian newspapers as a 'political' decision.
This was, in my opinion, also tragically incorrect.

Attacks on freedom of speech are political. Attacks by terrorists attempting to stifle any debate or satire regarding their religion are political.

This was a political attack and my heart goes out to the French and their third Islamic attack in as many weeks.
