With the federal budget due to be delivered tonight, and the RBA nervously waiting in the background to see what effects the governments budget will have on inflation, the question has to be asked, is the government serious about curbing inflation?

Governments forecast on inflation = The forecasts, to be published in tomorrow night's federal budget, will show the consumer price index (CPI) is set to fall back under 3 per cent by December 2024.
RBA forecast on inflation = It's also a significant departure from the RBA's forecast, which has inflation increasing to 3.8 per cent in December.

If the Government is serious about curbing inflation,
the budget will have measures that targets
    1. Fuel Cost
    2. Rent/housing cost
    3. Food Cost
    4. Energy Cost

If the budget fails to appropriately target these soaring cost, then Australian's are looking down the barrel of further Rate rises, more Australian's in mortgage stress, more Australian's in mortgage delinquency, more record high business insolvencies, further worsening of the household disposable income situation, continued declining of Consumer and Business Confidence and the vulnerable being forced to choose between food or heating during winter.
