What's the problem? Our government is not meant to be influenced by the church/ religion. It is meant to be secular. Religious nuts think that they need to "save" people, and by save they mean convert the unindoctrinated. PMs aren't meant to "lay on the hands" on people, or speak with pride about their attempts to do so.
Religion does not belong in politics. And people who believe that the world was created for our benefit do not belong in power. If your religion influences the decisions you make in your professional life, then you do not belong in a position of influence.
