Reading this article (I didn't want to past the first few paragraphs and have only skim read) - as it is like watching (ABC, 9EC, 7 and other) news journalists on TV in Australia and in a few overseas countries, report on 'unfortunate and/or malicious news' with much 'glee and excitement in their voice' as they recount a serious and/or tragic narrative. Recent examples - US shooting massacres, extreme and tragic weather events.....and how excited was the Australian TV journalist telling us about the 39 found dead in a people smuggling truck near the Thames. Sounded like the happiest day in his life. Similarly, listen to any Australian TV news journalists reporting on fires, fire damage, cyclones. floods, droughts and deaths in Australia. The TV journalists sound 'extraordinarily' happy when they report - listen to the tone in their voice as they report. There is no sense of gravity/seriousness or respect in their voices whatsoever. No sense of the further damage they are causing impacted/affected others by their callous (cruel/insensitive) reporting.

Many journalists can now also be deemed to be 'trolls' - courtesy of this google definition - "trolling is defined as creating ** on the internet by starting quarrels or upsetting people by posting inflammatory or off-topic messages in an online community. Basically, a troll is someone who deliberately says something controversial in order to get a rise out of other users or gain attention for themselves, or for their own purpose."

There are far too many print, online & TV journalists who think their next news item is going to propel them into 'stardom' or help them 'win accolades' .... and more pathetically and desperately, win them 'likes' on twitter, fb, muckrack and a profile on google etc. Those journalists are seeking "fame without name and power without glory". No need for them to seek 15 minutes of fame now (ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/15_minutes_of_fame) they don't need to - they only need a few fleeting minutes of social media fame/clicks and they reach an audience within a few minutes on a zombie phone, free newspaper access and/via many other social media platforms --- their published 'garbage' remains there forever now - far longer than 15 minutes.

Thank you akpv for your response to my earlier query.

CFred-Krgrs's article, the latest you have posted above, is what we now know is to be expected from *'scumbag' sensationalist journalists. What a waste of a tertiary education and taxpayers's expense, if CK is now reduced to producing such 'garbage' in order to remain employed by 9EC. As for JShapiro publishing articles for AFR (once a respected newspaper - pre 9EC ownership) - the number of co-authors listed to produce such inferior published, unverified, intentionally malicious outputs.... JShap wasn't shortlisted for a Walkley Award for 2019 (understandably).

My definition of *scumbag here is courtesy of Google:
    Words Related to scumbag
caveman, Neanderthal, loudmouth, vulgarian, lowlife, miscreant, rogue, roughneck, scab, scoundrel, villain, wretch, booby, doofus [slang], fool, jackass, nincompoop, ninny, nit [chiefly British], nitwit, nut, schmo (or schmoe) [slang].

I hope 9EC newspaper journalists will be questioned and held accountable for the damage they are doing to Australian companies. Also I hope that 9EC is held accountable for all sources of their media reporting - containing malicious reporting - which has caused Australian people 'damage' as 9EC have continued to publish unethical, un-researched, biased/miscontrued and substandard reporting. This is evidenced, if you research and read 9EC publications for the past 2+years for ASX listed companies. 9EC's published and unsubstantiated slurs have also not been confined to ASX listed companies.

9EC are now seeking radio media dominance - source Nine secures takeover 4 October 2019 - " talkback radio host Alan Jones and venture capitalist Mark Carnegie have agreed to sell their shares in Macquarie Media to Nine Entertainment Co helping the broadcaster all but secure its $114 million takeover of the radio group."

Why isn't ASIC (or another Commonwealth and/or regulatory authority) investigating the repercussions of this takeover and the negative impact on already 'poor' and controlling media output from 9EC? Is more 9EC 'news' pollution, distortion, monopolising and collusive coverage about to occur once they secure Macquarie Group?
