    Without short sellers we would have no buyers (they get their profit from closing their short) during a market panic.

    Also, media bs can also increase share prices (how many pumps & dumps have you seen over the years).

    I think all the talk about banning short selling is nonsense. It won't save us, just as QE hasn't saved us.
