Westhx... I don't feel the $3/lb mark is safe. I am not a chartist. Instead i try to position myself in the shoes of a factory owner who uses copper. Shell shocked by unprecedented price rise in base meatls these past 3.5 years he has stockpiled in case it goes higher. Now, just as his factory business outlook is slowing, the price of Cu is falling strongly...... some times by 2%/day. So why would he/anyone buy? If it's cheaper tomorrow he'll dig into his stockpile. Exascerbating the situation is that speculators who helped drive the price up are now selling and accelerating the downslide. So the swing is much more violent than usual. Where will it end? Nobody knows..... but well $3.oo/lb is my guess. IMO the big question is: how long will Cu and other BM stay down? A couple of years is my guess.
