Snuff, the gospel accounts tell us;the moment Jesus breathes his last, a violent earthquake occurs, splitting open the rock-masses. The quake is so powerful that the memorial tombs outside Jerusalem are broken open and corpses are thrown out of them. Passersby who see the dead bodies that have been exposed enter the city and report it.

    this is a metaphor

the earthquake was the pangs of conscience in those people who turned a blind eye, thus their heart hearts ('tombs') were broken open & their dead emotions ('corpses') came back to life

Furthermore, at the moment Jesus dies, the huge curtain that divides the Holy from the Most Holy in God’s temple is rent in two, from top to bottom.

again, just a metaphor. when a man is crucified politically, it divides society, just like say, the Vietnam War, divided Australian society

The army officer in charge at the execution gives glory to God. “Certainly this was God’s Son,”

obviously the Centurion, whose son Xesus helped. obviously this Centurion ensured Xesus could be pulled from the X, prematurely

anyway, enough of this metaphorical religion, which speaks in parables, created for the masses by the Roman Empire
