You Xians keep ignoring the NT. In the NT, the 'soul' is simply the nervous system of a person that feels & generates emotions.
We need see that when we ourselves feel emotions, how this also manifests physically, such as if we are distraught or are angry, there are physical symptoms.
When a human being is mentally ill, they are given medication that makes them no longer feel or generate extreme emotions.
Why don't you simply have faith in the NT, which purely describes the soul has a human beings sense of well-being?
Or have you Xians become comfortably numb to the reality of emotions & comfortably numb to the internal effects of actions & thoughts?
Once we start to assume the soul is a permanent mysterious substance that is independent of the physical body, we are entering the sphere of Hinduism, such as when Krishna told Arjuna the soul cannot be cut, it simply leaves one body at death & enters another, therefore it is OK to die in war.
