True but as there is so much emphasis on "affordable housing" SMSF investment, given some controls, might go a long way to towards funding some solutions. Thats of course if it is generally accepted that every Australian should own a home and society has an obligation to provide to this sector. After that of course it simply comes down to the basic principles of sound investment.
