@beefarmer; I don't see our future as a choice between the USA and China - or any other country / bloc for that matter. We cohabit the same planet and we need to interact in a more respectful, constructive, cooperative and peaceful manner that we're seeing atm.

China does not pretend to be a social democracy and openly boasts of its Communist system, yet it's waved splendid isolation good-bye and taken a gamble on 'the free market'. Harsh laws, human rights violations and oppressive censorship remain major issues which countries icnluding Australia continue to chip away at.

The USA claims to be the World's model social democracy. It's actual record demonstrates that it's anything but that as it sinks into the depths of oppressive censorship, incarcerates whistle-blowers, imposes sanctions which just happen to suit its corporations, shreds international agreements including those relating to 'free trade', pours US WMDs into ruthless militarised regimes and even commences planning sanctions against the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice because they dared hear complaints about alleged US war crimes and those alleged of Netanyahu's Regime.

It's my assessment that the USA is currently modelling world-worst practice as it seeks to places itself and Netanyahu's Regime above global scrutiny.
