too right Wang. and so far the factors I listed have so far managed to contain the fatalities to such a minimum. imagine if there hadn't been petrol engines to drive rescue boats as was the case in the '54 Maitland flood. many more would have died but for the much improved boats and power.
but this recent rise in fatalities here in Aus is concurrent with similar rises in fatalities elsewhere in the world. the same weather dynamic, much increased by CC, is resulting in higher deaths than in recent decades..... hey its not a trend yet. yet it is extraordinary deaths along the whole length of the east coast.
