yeah - I gotta admit - it's something I've never understood about bubble talk - and very few seem to mention.

Bubbles are indeed a period relative phenomenon and over enough time all bubbles look pretty smoothed out because of ever advancing inflation.

So the question is what time frame is relevant with respect to gold? Well a quick look at the charts makes 2001 look pretty damn relevant. And if we are heading toward a bubble - by that chart it looks like we're entering the parabolic phase. Not quite there yet... but I've heard woteva going on about this on these forums. He may well be right.
