It sounds great on paper, but the problem with this corporate philosophy is that if the companies they invest in never receive recognition from the market, that's literally the definition of a bad investment.
Trying to be too clever for their own good a lot of the time, the whole "we don't follow the herd because we can" mentality is just a marketing gimmick. Kerr was the only one who could do that successfully, the current lot don't have the skill.
