troyus - VAU's share price appreciation since the April lows about a week ago has been 15% - pretty much in line with a lot of its peers over that time. Volumes have been a bit above average of late but interest in gold stocks has increased recently so that's perhaps not surprising. Perhaps short-term trading activities may have boosted trading as well. On the face of it, "nothing much to see here" over the past week although after-market crossings seem to be a feature of trading in VAU that we continue to see.
Still if there is some sort of conspiracy to keep a lid on the VAU share-price for whatever reason, I just can't see those behind it using these two newbies as their stalking horse/s. But you never know. They might actually be dumb like a fox - though that's certainly not my view of them.
Whether these blokes are suss or not, troyus, there are a lot of very seasoned, very experienced (and, I'd suggest, very successful) investors on this forum who a big enough to see through the bs (including all the rants I post) and continue to make their investment decisions based on analysis not emotion.
A gold boom will bring lots of new "investors" into gold shares and EFT's (just as every boom does) and their early successes will make many of them think investing is easy and that they're genius'. That's just the way these things play out.
