Nick007 - in regard to your comment "gold price stays up for longer", I notice that UBS and Goldman Sachs (and possibly others to follow) have just done fresh gold price predictions. They've both upped their near-term USD gold price forecasts, and extended out the timeframes when they think the USD gold price will start to ease back.
Provided our own dollar doesn't appreciate markedly against the USD, that's gotta give investors in local gold stocks a bit of a fillip. As you suggest, a nice Quarterly Report in the very near term won't do any harm either.
