Hedges cannot be timed out, they must be delivered. If you cannot produce from your mine you have to buy them on the market or pay the differential to the other party. The other party will often have hedged their exposure in some manner, or taken an opposing contract and made guaranteed money on the spread.. Unless you believe the gold price is going to keep going up then best to start SZ asap, as these ounces will benefit from current gold price.
