Yeah it s strange to see how tweedy the culture has become, unable to have a joke and obsessed with their self interests thats why social clubs and the church is in massive decline. I think the root cause of this is high debt levels that has two effects, people experiencing a wealth effect but also becoming more vulnerable to risks. Also the encroachment of government into areas that were previously done by volunteers and community groups, now the government crowded out these services, but when the government cuts a void is leff.
