Yeah, makes sense what you're saying about it going from animal to animal. I still think the treatments will improve and if vaccination reaches 85% (of all population, not just the eligible) it should slow things down a lot. If we need boosters initially that might may be one thing, but overtime you would suspect they can work it into a single shot.

If the virus does become weaker overtime the vaccines may not be as necessary. Obviously it might not become weaker, just that it's a possibility. Even with people who choose not to vaccinate - you would still expect most countries should reach 85-90% fully-vaccinated in the near future.

And if the virus doesn't become weaker, the pressure of trying to fight it and come up with new approaches will likely result in scientific breakthroughs.
