4. In doing so, I have been conscious of the relationship between ASIC and the CBA.

6. Housing ASIC in the bosom of the CBA is no way to make ASIC seem independent of the bank.
After all, I believe that since ASIC has the responsibility for improving the performance
of the financial system and CBA is very much a part of the financial system, it is highly important that ASIC should be seen to be totally independent of the CBA.

33. Please consider my submission seriously as I consider that my personal civil rights are being threatened along with the rights of many other Australians, through ASIC's too close
relationship with the banks and especially, CBA. I believe that if the Australian Parliament does not act, no one else will and then ASIC will continue to allow the banks and other big
players, to run rampant over all of us.
