    Times are tough in the building business, but the private giants in this area are built to last: Eight date back to the 19th century, including Kiewit Corp. (No. 26), which was founded in 1884, and has been behind everything from the Tacoma Narrows Bridge to the Fort McHenry Tunnel. These guys are in town I hear.
