Nabaru, I believe they are well beyond the stage of identifying the fauna and flora of the region. If there were any rare beasts in the area we would probably have known about it well before trial mining began.
The announcement back on the 12th June 2013 included the headline "Completed flora/top soil clearing of the area of the processing plant/tailings storage"
Since then much if not most of the mining area (and all of the trial mining area) will have been cleared of all top soil prior to the trial mining excavation of waste and ore.

We are surely beyond the stage of finding any rare flora or fauna that might slow proceedings or put the ML at risk.
