Carsales would definately slow in a recession but the total cost of ownership will be increasingly factored when considering a purchase. This is what will cause EV uptake to accelerate.
Remember the ICE adoption and occured during a world war. The EV adoption will continue and i wouldnt be surprised if it acrually accelarates. It was only last week that CEO of battery manufacturer that makes Leaf's battery said $100/kwh will be achieved by the end of 2020. It was originally planned for 2023.
