A very interesting thread. The problem I see with superannuation is the soverign risk.

If you put money that can't be withdrawn for decades into an account you need to have confidence. Yet barely a month goes by without a politician threatening to raid the 'superannuation pool'. Many policians think our savings are available for redistribution.

The rules about super funds are changed annually making long term planning impossible.
