Much as we might love the cash injection from any takeovers at a premium, I prefer businesses to remain listed and hopefully have SPs gradually rise (never in a linear fashion, and accepting that even the most well run businesses with some sort of 'moat' may have stagnant FYs or even, heaven forbid, go backwards for a year or two).
Takeovers mean one has to research whether adding to a position, or buying scrip in a company one's not held before is best.
It's not in our collective interests to see listings diminish, but the paucity of new floats that aren't priced unrealistically means the former may well (sadly) continue occurring.
