our neighbourhood corner stores went a long time ago through inability to compete with their bigger convenient store competitors.
It is now the turn of the small manufacturers. I think this has been going on for a few years now.
It is a very good reason why we need, in some instances, government regulations to ensure some level playing fields for all players, big and small. I do believe the Labor Party is better able to handle that philosophically :-) Liberals are for competition with as few regulations as possible.
We should have a well funded ACCC with strengthened regulatory powers for that role.
