To compliment my previous post, This is Kangilinnguit. The buildings here seem to be more maintained since people live there.https://hotcopper.com.au/data/attachments/3266/3266593-e637a0ce5fc80653820fffe89176277b.jpg

This is HDMS Thetis, another danish Frigate which has used the dock at Kangilinnguit

This is another photo of Kangilinnguit which a lovely sailor we should ask about Ivittuut with, again, it seems that the danish navy actively utilise Kangilinnguit as a place to stop over and attempt repairs whilst conducting patrols and exercises in the south of Greenland. note that the buildings again seem to be in good order, as well as the ship in the background, it doesn't appear to be a Thetis class vessel, this is due to the front mask not being a 'pole with a ball' on top, rather a more modern design. I'm not a danish naval expert but it could be the Absalon-class or the similarly sized though 45 tonnes heavily Iver Huitfeldt-class.

I bring this up as it's displacement is larger, at 6,600 tons.

This photo is taken from an icebreaker overlooking the town, the road appears to have been cleared as well as a thin layer of ice in the slightly sheltered waters.

Again, what appears to be a danish military vehicle. From my research, it does appear the danish navy operate there rather frequency and during all periods of the year.

I bring you these photos to help understand what is there on instagram as well as some of the infrastructure, Kangilinnguit seems to be able to support one of the largest vessels the danish navy operates which would be good to keep in mind when you ask how the material will be exported from Ivittuut. Also it's fun for a Sunday to browse through Instagram and have a look. If you want more factual and in-depth posts, come back Monday-Friday as that's when my brain is switched on
