Could be but there was a move up by all the miners and IO stocks at the same time .. BHP, RIO, FMG, MGX and BCI. Coincided with the growth data being 0.6% in September quarter which was actually slightly under expectations.

Almost certainly some short covering involved in this move. Looking at AGO's chart for the last year there are almost regular moves up and down every few days which is typical of a stock with sound fundamentals but being targeted by shorters as well.
