thanks nathanblack, what you say makes sense... I know the kids would be entertained on the boat, and it would ne a novel experience... I am also investigating a 7 day cruise from brisbane...then a possibility of before /or after spend say or 4 days on the Gold coast..go to a theme park ...but i just see cost ballooning.... :( for me I am from the old school of thought..i shouldnt go on a holiday till I pay of bills..and not add debt.. but time goes by..you cant buy back time..I have a window of a few years with the kids... I wouldnt have to think so hard if PNO was over 1c... )i must confess also the thought of dressing up on the formal nights of the cruise doesnt excite me) when I worked for a multi national I did all those things..and the trips i went on were 6 star!! i saw one bill for 4 days in NZ , per couple was $16K back in 1995 !! It included things like private choppers etc So in basic thinking..: airfares $1200 ..cruise $3k..spending $1k..(thats without goldcoast an extra $1k i reckon for 3 or 4 days..but could be worth trying to fit that in... Thanks again for the responses...if nothing else it gets people thinking outside the square!
